Guessing but it sound like a main fuse or breaker by the battery blew. The spec is that withing a couple feet there has to be a dedicated fuse or breaker to protect the system. If your converter quit or is wired to the battery direct. (common on some makes) This would explain it. Find the battery and trace the main battery power feed (+) cables back to the frame etc until you find the hidden problem. The only thing is the truck should directly wire to the battery to charge so the break away will work if the trailer comes detached. So how you bypassed the problem kind of indicates the unit is not wired correct or you have a corrosion problem in or on the battery conections. Good Luck |
