We just purchased a new 2009 Forest River motorhome. The Generac generator ran for 2.8 hours and has stopped working. It runs, but there is no output. Generac authorized warranty repair shop can't figure out what's wrong. Generac refuses to replace the generator. They say they'll just replace parts until they find what's wrong...it seems it could take forever. Is anyone experiencing similar problems. We're pretty frustrated after making such a large investment and not getting to use the motorhome even once.
Most rv's must have bettter than 1/3 tank of fuel--for generator to run.have you checked for any (output)circuit breakers that might have tripped, some rv's you must plug in the Shore cable back into Receptacle in the unit--(safety Feature) class (C) units have this feature---
rich in Va.
If you give me the brand of Forest River motor home I can give you the warrnty rep contact info and many of the Forest river warranty reps will at least try to light a fire under their suppliers in these cases. Good Luck
Thanks, Bubba. It's a Georgetown. We've spoken with "Mike" at Forest River a couple of times. Seems they aren't able to do any more than we are. We're all at the mercy of Generac, so we're told. They tried a new voltage regulator today and that's not it, so we wait again (it's going on 2 weeks now). Is this typical with motorhome problems?
