I appear to have what may be an open circuit (but I'm not sure) in my brake light switch. for one thing, when I press on the brake, the brake lights do not come on. Also, when I press on the brake, it does not unlock the transmission so I can put the car in neutral to have it towed. Any ideas why on how to fix this without having to rewire the whole thing?
