I have a 1985 Terry pull behind travel trailer. While packing it up tonight my wife and I notice the frame for the screen door gives you a little tingle when you touch it and you are standing in bare feet. This is also true with the main door and the awning arms. Painted metal surfaces do not shock & as I said you have to be in bare feet. Is this something I should be concered about? Is it a danger to use. My 5 yr old is the one that noticed it.
Yes it is dangerous. There is a ground fault in your trailer 110 volt system. Most comon problems producing this are a bad 110 v hot water heater element, or a bad fridge element. To track it down turn off all the 110 volt breakers in your trailer then plug into a GFIC receptical, Did it trip if no then turn on breakers until it trips, try with the fridge on and hot water heater on. Replace the faulty item. I have seen both the fridge and water heater trip a GFCI with the breaker off. They really need to be un pluged to be sure. Any other 110 volt appliance can be the problem, just track the problem down the same way. Good Luck
