I have a 1989 class a pace arrow motor home. it has 2 battery switchs above the side door. can you explain how these switchs work and why they do not engage all the time.It does have 2 relays on the left side of the fire wall that click every time i push the switchs but it does not transfer power to the out going side of the solenoid. please resond.
Those are factory installed battery disconnect switches there not engauging due to a couple of problems first is battery condition or faulty battery diconnect solinoids that are located on the firewall behind that black box
Rick. You have probably figured out by now that if the battery is disconnected and still goes bad, then more than likely it has a shorted cell. On the other hand if the coach battery remains in a disconnected state because of the non-operation of the relays, then the battery never gets charged by the chassis or the converter. Check your voltage at the output side of the relay while someone operates the relay. the relay must stay energized to complete the path for charging.
