We bought our daughter a 2001 Cavalier (with only 86,000 kilimeters on it). The car won;t start and she says that on the right side of the driver's part of the dashboad there is a warning light on. It is the light right above the ABS warning light. Does anyone know how I can find out what this warning light means? She's 1800 miles away in a spot where there is no mechanic so there's a problem. Thanks
Does it spin over but just won't start? Some of these have an anti-theft system. Put key in, turn to on position, wait 15 to 30 minutes then try to start the car. This is providing that there is a anti-theft light on flashing with the key in the on position. This may help or may not. I would need more information.
The light you are discribing, if it looks like a little pump and is yello in colour it is a check engine light for fuel, emmisions and ignition. this usually requires a diagnostic tool or a lot of trial and error. My brothers 01 cavalier has the same problem.
