Mt ABS light comes on sporadically on my motor home with 45000 miles
Dealer's OBDII reader tells me that the brake fluid is low - if this is not the case then replace the $700 ABS module
Of course my fluid level is good. Before I commit to paying for the module up front (no return, no guarantee that problem will be fixed), I wa swondering if any one else has run into this problem
I have the same problem on an older model rv. I took mine to a couple of places. Ultimately, they determined that the brake linings are fine -- about 70% left. Recently I spoke with a person who had the module replaced and he said that the ABS light continued to come on sporadically for him even with this done. Could be a wiring problem??? That is much more expensive than the module. For me -- I'll just live with the light coming on once and awhile. As long as the brakes are fine, that is what counts. That is what stops the rv.
I live in N.Z. and have had the same problem on a 1999 Mirada with F53 chassis
The problem was the rear ABS pickup mounted on top of the diff Replaced and no more problems. It should be able to be checked out with the OBD2 Scanner
F53 Chassis on Monoco Motorhome, eng running, stopped, foot on brake, I get a hissing noise from the brake module, gets louder, the harder you apply the brakes, and the abs light is on.
