Y RV on a P30 chassis, 1992 38 ', never had good brakes since I bought it. It was 6 yrs old at the time. The total hydraulic regular brake (4 wheel disc) system was replaced from backing plate out, including the tag axles (Drum). Have great pedal w/out engine running, but start the engine the pedal goes way down. When on the road the pedal goes about 1" from the floor. It will stop the unit, but I would hate to have to make a panic stop! No leaks in the Hydroboost unit, power steering works great! Have been working on this for many moons with no change. Booster appears to work, after purging the accumualtor, holding the pedal down, start the engine, pedal goes down then pushes back some! Any suggestions? The pin from the booster has about 1/8" between it and the master cylinder. Any suggestions.
Hey - Just fixed my '92 Pace Arrow 32 ft w/ 4 wheel disk. I had the master cylinder replaced because of leaking. Than the brakes would not release. I could shut down for 5/10 min. and they would release. Was told "Hoses"! Replaced hoses, calipers, pads, and turned disk while greasing wheel bearings. NO brakes! Then another master cylinder. While installing the master I noticed a Gap between master & Hydro assist. Installed anyway. No brakes. Remove and shimed to only paper thickness between. GREAT brakes. Try it.
