1997 Bounder with Chev Chassis Park Brake Norm 5-25-06
I have a 1997 Chev Chassis on my Bounder motorhome. I have had the park brake adjusted and worked on 5 times in 2 years by GM Mr. Goodwrench, and still do not have a park brake. They adjust it and it holds for 200 miles and then it goes out. Brake shoes, drum, cables are all new, still have to use blocks when I stop.

1997 Bounder.AutoPark brake AND manual parking brake quit working. At same time, leveling jacks quit.I found that grounding the wire going to the neutral safety switch made the jacks work. Could this also cause the autopark brake to not work.I checked the reservoir. Was empty so refilled it.How does this system work anyhow..

Are you loosing the dextron fluid from the tank-at the unit?
the green switch is normally the first thing to go bad

No I am not losing the fluid on the brake. When I first have it adjusted at the Chevy garages, it will hold perfect. Then I travel somewhere between 10 and 200 miles and it will hold a little but not on a normal incline. I have spent almost $2000 on it, at 3 different Chevy garages between Arizona and Wisconsin, and each will say something else is wrong, but still end up driving out of the garage and by the end of the day, I am without a park brake. I have replaced transmission seal, new brake shoes, new brake drum, and new hydrolic brake cable.
