P-30 AUTO PARK BREAK- :-( HELP! JOSE CRESPO 6-5-05
I have Autopark on the P30 Chassis on my 1999 Fleetwood Flair and it does not disengage. I had the switches replaced just over 8 months ago an again we are back to the same problem with the autopark. Does anybody know where these switches are so I can replace them myself? I disconnected the cable temporarily until I can get it fix. But I hate to pay over $200.00 everytime these 2 switches go bad. The actual cost on these switches are $40.00 for both and I can probably do the work myself and save all that money.

Please help me locate these switches!!! THANKS!!

Jose there are three switches on this unit. the first and controlling switch is located at the bottem of the steering wheel and is accesesed through the wheel well when you remove a metal panel.but most likely this switch as not been replaced due to the problem of getting to it it is operated through mechinical linkage (also this is where your transmission cabel connects. a good place to start. there is a resiviour under the motor home right side toward rear of trans mission make sure it is full(dexron 3 atf) if so go to front of vehicle open outside axcess to engine compartment, you should see a metal fuse box (drivers side) below that is a electrical connection two wires, one probably pink, one yellow w/black stripe these appear to be going to the base of the steering collum, disconnect these, now you will have one end coming from fuse box--- with ignition in start position(engine not running) CAUTION VEHICLE SHOULD BE FULLY CHALKED TO PREVENT ROLLING) using a simple probe light ground the aligator clip(test it by touching positive side of batt.) touch the inside of connection for the pink wire, yu should have 12v if not your problem is between there and the fuse block inside motor home under dash should be a 10 amp fuse located right hand side of fuse block(sitting in drivers seat) all the way toward the wind shield. check this out e-mail if we need to check futher

Cap yes that is good..on midland breakes we had a parking break switch( air opperated )..now if you take the main power switch ( fuse) and put the switch in the pannel that works and bye pass the other switch ( just put a light on the pannel that telllles you the breaks are not enguaged )you can mannualy operate them... be sure you disenguage the hydry bost unit by putting in a double through switch at least 15 amp rating
