I have a 1976 Travel Queen with M500 Dodge Chassis. I want to replace the apply system (pedal, booster,& master cylincer) with one that moves fore/aft rather than the current one that is move up/down. This type is hard to apply since you have to kind of "stand" on the pedal, rather than push it. Does anyone know of a chassis that was used for class "A" motorhomes and the year used that would have a brake apply system that mounts below the floor? Thanks.
I have a 77 Dodge M400 chassis with the HydroBoost & Master Cylinder horizontal below the drivers seat. I have also been advised that service/repairs on these systems are very expensive.
With regards to modifying the pedal linkage. Nothing is impossible but as the other fella said it may be more more economical to upgrade to a newer chassis. I estimate you would be into this job no less than a couple thousand bucks. JP Benoit.Maximum Automotive Repair and Restorations
