Chev hydroboost brakes Mac 7-4-03
I have been here before with this, and I'm just about pulling what hair I have left, out. I have a very hard pedal which requires a lot of effort to stop. I checked the rear cylinders, with hubs off, bled them to clean fluid, linings are ok. Checked front, changed the pads, which were new, but put in when it was certified. Before I had the booster rebuilt, there was a hard pedal and no dash brake light on, but after rebuilding booster, dash light comes on about 10 minutes after starting RV. It is a 92 Chev.25'RV with a 454cu.in. motor. Everything looks dry and ok. underneath. It doesn't pull to either side when the brakes are applied. Any ideas?

Your brake booster is supplied pressure from the pump for the power steering. You will need to do a flow and pressure check on the pump.
Also find the priority valve to see if it is not limiting the pressure to the brakes.

I have an 87 1 ton put on new master but when you start truck the cylinder through floor board sucks in then the pedal rod falls out
Chev hydroboost brake pedal travel Tracy @ CarCraft Athens GA 4-25-06
Having trouble explaining to customer
how hydraboost works and why the pedal travels to the floor under heavy pressure but still stops with normal brake pressure and does not bleed down.

I have a 1985 Chev C60 with vaccum then hydrobost then mastercylinder
I have replaced 2 hydrobost and they booth along with the original leak power-steering fluid between the mastercylinder and the hydrobost
are these known for this
and is there a solution?
Thanks for any info

I notice there are two valves, one off the front brake line, one off the back brake line, both with wires coming from, are they the valves you are talking about? The steering is great, would that be ok if there isn't enough for the brake booster?
Re: Chev hydroboost brakes Joe 7-7-03
You should find the priority valve in the high pressure line from the steering/brake pump that goes to the steering box and the hydroboost.

Thanks Joe, I'm having a friend mechanic check it out today. Hopefully he'll find the problem. I'll give him the info that you passed on to me. Many thanks, and I'll let you know how it turns out.

FWIW, I have a Hydroboost system on my 1985 Pace. I have always felt the pedal was a bit hard compared to a vacuum system.
