Start by checking for current to that brake assy when brake is applied, use a test light.If you have current, then check that the ground lead from the elctromagnet is, indeed, grounded. If these two steps check OK, then disconnect the ground lead, hook your test light between it and a good ground and apply the brakes, light should go on. If not, windings in electromagnet are faulty, replace it.
