Toyota 1987 4x4 hilux with drum brakes.brakes lock up gradualy after an hour of driving especialy in long trafic.i changed wheel cylinders.and propery adjusted them thinking i solved the problem two of them where sciesed.but the problem remained.i changed master cylinder.but still problem remaind.i adjusted the play in the prake peddle into the power brake servo.still no good.i cant put my finger on the problem.since the brake lines are running so close to the exaust manifold and muffler.i am think that the brake lines are got hot and expanding the hydolic oil in the brake lines.is this a possibility or not.i cant understand why the brake line runns so close to the exaust manifold.a stupid toyota mistake i guess.
I need to change the front discs as they are seriously no good.
Have taken off all the usual wheel caliper e.t.c the little 10mm retaining nut on the end of the shaft, but the discs seem welded on !!!!
PLEASE CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO DO ?????

I had a Toyota car do something like this but it was the front disk brakes. Turned out the little relief port that makes sure any built-up pressure bleeds off (so brakes don't drag!) had grown shut with rust. Very tiny hole, around 1/16". Cleaning that solved my problem but I see you put on a new/rebuilt master cylinder. Sam's probably got you on the right track, but you mention the flexible hoses. They can fail into a condition that they're like a check valve. Pedal pressure will get fluid to apply the brakes but the fluid does not all return when the pedal is released. This looks like one we can all learn from, so be sure to let us know what happens.

Sounds like you've covered everything EXCEPT checking the clearance between the master cylinder pushrod and the servo. You can check this by taking a wrench that fits the front or rear wheel cylinder bleed screws. Next time the brakes start to drag, pull over to a safe place and crack one of the bleeder screws. If there is pressure in the system the fluid will squirt out and you will know that there is no clearance between the servo and the master cylinder push rod. Correct as needed.
My new hilux was locking the brakes (rear)and the dealer cleaned them a couple of times and the service bloke didnt believe me until i got him to ty and drive off from the bay where the mechs had left it. They fixed it then the next time I had a wheellockup on one side I found the bearing seal had been leaking into the drum. Fixed that on warrantly and no trouble since. Up to sixty thou on the clock now. Friend told me that traveling through briny water will leave an impregnation of salt in the linings and lockup the drums when the brake is aplied. Solution here is to emery off a little of the pad surface.
Your handbrake lever is siezed to the backing plate. common saltwater fault. or is there a self-adjusting ratchet and are they installed propley and work. Rap your effected pipes with aluminium foil (shinny side out). Change your Brake fluid, new fluid will not expand under extream heat.
I've got the same problem on my '97 Corolla. Just replaced the master cylinder, front pads, rotors, hoses, calipers and rear hoses, cylinders, discs, and shoes. Oh yeah, and the pcv valve...will repost if I learn anything.
I had a truck burn its back wheels off after driving it for a couple of hours. turned out that the mechanic replaced the master cylinder and didn't check to see if there was free play at the brake pedal rod to the piston of the master cylinder.the little hole which lets out that built up pressure from the expansion of the fluid is blocked off if the piston doesn't return back to its stop.
