Have a Dodge m-400 and my right front brake locked up. I replaced the calipar and pads but as soon as I applied the brakes hard the calipar locked up again. Anyone know what may be the problem?
Joe's correct that the brake line may cause the caliper to lock up. However, you did not indicate if the caliper realeases on its own. If so, are you sure that the LH caliper is functioning properly? Perhaps the RH is "locking" only because the LH is not working. If the RH releases without cracking the bleeder, look at the master cyl (check valves), pedal shaft adjustment (it has to release completely), and the LH caliper. What did the brake pads look like when you removed them? There may be a hidden message in wear or lack of wear to the brake pads. Are the rear brakes working properly? If you find a bad brake hose, consider replacing all three flex hoses.
