I have a 34' 1990 cruise air 3,john deere chassis,460 ford w/c6 trans,4 wheel disc brakes,whenever i go camping,after i drive at least an hour and i stop for a few minutes,motor off or on doesnt matter,the brakes will fade(pedal almost goes to floor)when i try to stop,after a bit it comes right back to normal,my thought is that while driving air is cooling the master cylinder/hydo booster and i dont ever have a problem,when i stop excess heat from the engine starts to boil the fluid in the brakes and makes them fade?any thoughts would be appriciated....buck
Brake fade could be caused by a few things. Keep an eye on the master cylinder if it gets low you know you've got a leak or bad master cylinder? if poss. leak pump up the brakes a few times then look around the inside of tires for leaks. could be a booster or vacuum problem also. make sure the vacuum hoses are all connected and in good condition. If you have airbrakes its probably because of moisture in the lines which can be solved with a little dry gas
