On several occations I have lost my brakes. Petal go's to floor. Still have power steering. After pulling to side of road and sitting for awhile, the brakes come back. Rotors are not dragging. Never know when this is going to happen. HELP! Wife is a nervous wreak.

I recently experienced the same thing in my 98 dolphin on a chevy frame. Tt was not total brake failure but pretty near. The pedal went almost to the floor. By gearing down and using the emergency brake i was able to stop. There was fluid dripping from the left side of the engin compartment. by the time i got it to the shop, killed the engine and had the mechanic check things out, he could find nothing wrong. Restarted the engine pumped the brakes, nothing leaking, suddenly there was pedal. The brakes were working fine. Continued home, 120 miles, with no problem. Went to the gm shop. They had no clue as to what may have happened. Told me if it wasn't broken, they couldn't fix it. they said i could just start replacing parts, but just the power booster would run about $900. And that may not be the problem.
I wonder if this is just a problem with the gm frames. It certainly scarey driving something that heavy not knowing when you may lose your brakes.
Anyone with any help call me at 361-897 1394 or email at sylviae@awesomenet.net

First thing would give you a problem like that is your hydro boost. There is a built in over pressure protection device that could fail. Then check your master cylinder for leak down. Next check all the wheel bearings for looseness, as with a real loose bearing the caliper piston is pushed back into the caliper and the first shot of brake fluid is used to push the piston back out. This isn't very likely, but a possibility.

Fluid boils, gets hot, air bubbles....try bleeding lines and adding fresh new fluid. I've had same problem, and it gets scary
