I have a 28' 1974 Superior motorhome on a Dodge chassis. It is hard to stop very fast or coming down hill. It acts like a car with the power brakes out. How can I tell if that is the case or if it is something else? Thanks.
OK not enough background info. But it sounds like the power brake booster isn't working or you have a serious brake problem elswhere. HAve a knowlegable person look at it quick. Good Luck
I found a mechanic who seemed quite knowledgeable. He found that the rear brak adjustors were locked at the end of their travel and the master cylinder wasn't holding pressure with lengthy braking. I'll get it back tomorrow. He also suggested that I might want to get metallic pads for the front. The pads aren't worn, but he said that they appeared to be cheap organic pads and they wouldn't give maximum braking.
