Last October, while enroute to Disney on I4, the brakes just went out completely. Called a mobile repair service - found nothing. Figured they were hot. They worked fine on the way home and the couple of times we have driven it since - until just recently. Not too far from home, the brakes were just gone! - All the way to the floor. And we hadn't gone but 20 miles. We've taken it to a commercial truck brake repair facility but they can't seem to find anything (i.e., master cylinder, pads, etc. all seem to be OK). Any info about this problem would be greatly appreciated. I've read other reports of the W20/22 chassis having brake problems similar as well. Hubby said he didn't notice any lights coming on prior to that. Any additional info will really help. At $100/hour, diagnosis is really getting expensive
Hello Lynn
need a little info
what year is your MH--and Class A or C
and length---there are different systems out there
if you all only have foot brake trouble---first off replace the fluid if it's over 2 years old---since I assume you have disc brakes.moisture accumulates in the fluid it will turn brown--not simi clear.be sure the calipers aren't stuck too.IE rusted-from sitting

I too am having the same brake problem with my 1998 P-30 35' Class A Pace Arrow. I have disc brakes on both the front and rear with shoes on the tag axle. It has happened 4 times. Every time it has been after the coach has been unused for 2 or more months. Also it has happened within 1 hour from home. My most recent case, last Monday, happened when I was in heavy stop and go traffic. The air temp was a little over 90. I thought maybe the heat in the engine compartment had over heated the master cylinder. Could this be possible?
My question about the calipers is do they need to be replaced if they are rusted or can they be cleaned? Also I have been told to make sure I replace the brake hoses. Do you agree?
