DROVE OUR 83 WINNEBAGO TO A CAMPGROUND AND STAYED THREE DAYS. DID SOME WORK ON THE RV AND WHEN DRIVING IT BACK NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH. DID NOT KNOW IF IT WAS BRAKES. BUT SMOKE NONE THE LESS. DIDNT REALLY LOOK AS IF COMING FROM THE WHEELS. BUT DID NOTICE THEY WERE GRABBING SOME AND SQEAKING A LITTLE. ANYONE HAVE IDEAS OF WHAT THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INPUT :)
Your 83 does NOT have auto-Park---but your emergency/ parking brake is mounted on the rear of the transmission---it might be possible the rear seal is leaking and oil is on the shoes---causing the smoke--
also if your foot operated brakes are dragging---the flex brake fluid lines are known to go bad--causing the brakes to drag--

Ok nothing works...i even looked at the fuses and found two that were fused together...i started the rv and it ran and when i turned the lights on it died right away...i wound the wires that had the fuses fused together and started it again with a jump as usual it ran for about four to six minutes and slowly died out and stopped...please help im about ready to run it into a lake :(
