RV on a P30 chassis, 1992 38 ', never had good brakes since I bought it. It was 6 yrs old at the time. The total hydraulic regular brake (4 wheel disc) system was replaced from backing plate out, including the tag axles (Drum). Have great pedal w/out engine running, but start the engine the pedal goes way down. When on the road the pedal goes about 1" from the floor. It will stop the unit, but I would hate to have to make a panic stop! No leaks in the Hydroboost unit, power steering works great! Have been working on this for many moons with no change. Booster appears to work, after purging the accumualtor, holding the pedal down, start the engine, pedal goes down then pushes back some! Any suggestions? The pin from the booster has about 1/8" between it and the master cylinder. 8-3-08 Still same problem. Some things replaced twice. New slotted rotors with semi- metalic pads. No help. Just traveled 800 miles very little brakes on highway. Couldn't slide wheels if paid to do nor any panic stop. Two Chevy garages gave up plus numerous other mechanics most of which work on trucks and RV's! Had shop in PA worked on it three daysthis week and gave up. HELP HELP HELP Going on 2 years now.
Replace the Hydroboost its bad you can purchase them from H& h auto parts thier an ac delco suplier thier number is 818-771-0926 we replace them on our fllet of p chasis all the time !
