In your 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 2wd Cummins powered truck you have a 47re automatic transmission. The torque converter (if Stock) will not lock completely intill after it shifts into 3rd gear. It will slip in all gears before that, including reverse. I'd start by changing the fluid and adjusting the bands to factory specifications. The front band adjusting bolt is on the drivers side of the case. The rear band adjustment bolt is inside, under the filter. If you're having other shifting problems, you may need to look at the governer pressure sensor and switch. They are common failure items. |
