I have a 1991 Georgie Boy Encounter motorhome - 454 Chev. 1 ton chassis. M.home starts, but I can't get the gearshift to move out of Park. My braking system has a hydraulic assist, with a drum brake on the drive shaft. Any ideas on what kind of problem I am looking at?
Joe, there is a switch activated when you depress the brake pedal and this allows movement of the transmission shift lever. It could be a fuse blown, worn out switch, wiring or ??.
I would check the fuse and next be sure the switch has both wires connected. Have you been working near the brake pedal, ie. disrupted wiring? Just start checking items mentioned and good luck.
