Chevy transmission flush Buell Boan 7-3-02
When flushing the transmission on my 89 southwind, if I drain the torque convertor, will it refill itself from the transmission pan; or will it have to be filled separately?
Re: chevy transmission flush wrench 7-4-02
Normaly yes, it will refill itself. There is an other way to do that: You have to determine which line is the return from the cooler to the tranny, disconnect that hose or line, put a clear plastic hose over it and the end in a 1 gallon jug, fill tranny with oil as up to 2 quarts overfull, have a helper to start the engine, when you got the gal. full, you should be 2 quarts low in the tranny, add 1 gallon in the tranny, empty the jug & start over again. When the old oil will be ending & new oil coming out you're done.(the new oil will be blood red). DO change the filter in the tranny.

Buell, how do you drain your torque convertor? I haven't seen drain plugs on one since the Eisenhower administration.
Drive, doesn't go Ben 8-1-02
Ok, my '77 Nova, has been sitting for about 7 months. And I just got it going a couple of days ago. I drove it around town for a little while, then came back and parked it. When I started it again, it wouldnt go forward, it would reverse though. I checked the fluid, and it was fine. I'm starting to think that maybe the filter is clogged from maybe it sitting for too long of time, and the gunk has collected on it.
