You can replace your TH400 with a 4L80E, but by the time you buy and install the wiring and conversion computer and deal with the drum emergency brake (if you have it), you will be near or over the price of a Gearvendors unit. If your trans ever fails on the road, getting a TH400 repaired is far easier and economical than a 4L80E.

You would also have to change the differential gearing for the correct engen speed while in over drive. Best advice is FORGET ABOUT IT.
