This trany is the third in 4 years in this 1993 winebago brave with a 6.2L diesel it has slipping in reverse pulls ok in d and od but the slightest touch on throttle it drops from od and it down shifts in the next slight touch, maybe the tps and linkage too since this has no other electronic controls on the engine or trany clutches or bands. The only other loss is that 65 is topspeed even letting is shift through and gain speed and it was much better not that it needs that speed but the power and pulling is down.It has good fluid not burnt and full is it a chance solenoids or bands could be out of adjustment or could the control module be shot just trying to find a place start to correct it not just change another....will an allision bolt in that p30 chassis with the 6.2L dsl 1993 what controls would be needed???
Your case is worn at the anchors that hold the band, highly recommend that you purchase one from your local GM dealership,3year 100k mile warranty.Trying to install an allison transmission will run you over 5k dlls, due to price of trans and rewire and it will not just bolt on,project if you asked me!!!!
FLO-LOP transmissions 25 years GM dealership experience from cadys to chevys!!!
Thanks Is it often these wear fast this is a new not rebuild only a year old.It was bought from GM the first owner was retired GM worker and believed in those parts. This is a one owner so I know most of its use and care.I was wondering about the trany swap since it has so few electronics only trany is controlled.Any ideas where I may could get a module for the winnebago 6.2L dsl One that is matched to the gear on this?
I have a 2000 3500 chevy td diesel. the other day I was backing my camper up when the tires spun in the grass about 1 turn. i pulled up to get a better grip but the truck lost reverse.the trans. has less then 3000miles on a complete rebuild.could this be a easy fix?
