I have a 98 chevy gas 1 ton dually 4x4 auto trans that is shifting hard into 2nd gear under normal throttle but shifts fine under more than normal throttle. The tranny and transfer case were rebuilt and originally I had to take it back due to the tranny not engaging into second gear if I manually downshifted on a downgrade to use the engine compression to help reduce brake use under load. The tranny ended up going completely out but would only engage in 4wheel drive. The shop stated that it was a faulty pump and replaced the pump. Now tranny works fine except for the problem of the tranny shifting hard into second. Some forums state a possible issue with the faulty shift solenoid. Any suggestions?
