Just replaced old trany pan with a higher capacity and drain plug. Put fluid in and shifted through the gears and back and check level again,had too much and drained some out, checked again and a little low, drove home 5 miles and put in shed. Next time I went to start it and check fluid level I went through gears put it stuck in 1st gear and can not upshift. Turned ignition switch off and now can start since it is in gear.
4L80E is an electronically controlled trans, if it will start in reverse or drive the computer does not know what gear you have selected and wont shift the trans. Start with wiring and control/neutral safety switch. Good Luck
