I have a 1993 Chevy 1 ton dually 6.5 turbodiesel with the 4L80 transmission and I am having problems with it. At times it shifts through all the gears but shifts really hard. Then if I shut it off and restart it it just shifts up to 3rd gear and will not go into overdrive. It also will not kick down into 2nd gear on a hard acceleration. After letting it cool down and restart it it might have all 4 gears or not. I have had it looked at by several places and they can not figure it out. It sounds like an electrical problem to me. Please help!
