I haven't started my bus in years. Someone told me it was best, if it would be sitting, to not start it. Anyway, I need to move it, and need to check and see if it will start, but don't want to buy new bus batteries ($300).
I saw some marine batteries at Autozone, which are tagged as deep cycle. I know I have a 24 volt system, and so need to know two things:
1) Can I use the batteries from Autozone? They are about $64 each.
2) Do I run the batteries in series, or parallel to get the 24 volt?
I would not use deep cycle batteries, I would get some high amp/hr starting car batteries and connect them in series for 24 volts.
I have started my 8V-71 Detroit engine on them and it works fine for temp. use.
