Guidance Needed David A. Scott 1-1-06
I am trying to learn about RV, Motorhomes etc. and hopefully get enought education to not completely screw up in buying my first RV.

I'd like to hear input on the in and out, comparisons, likes and dislikes of bust conversion motorhomes and built motorhomes ie. Monaco or Winnebago etc.
Re: Guidance Needed TomC 1-2-06
I drove cross country truck for over 20 years and have seen what a "sticks and staples" Winnebago, Southwind, etc does in an accident. Not pretty, course many of the owners won't care since they also got wrecked. That's why I did my own bus conversion. Because of money issues, I used a transit bus, which is a bit harder to convert because of having to create the tank, generator and storage underneath that a Greyhound type would have. But ironically, transits are also the strongest made to handle the daily riggers of in town start and stopping. Talk to other owners. If you do go with a sticks and staples, no more than 5 years old. Good Luck, TomC

Tom is 100% correct. If you want to see what it takes to do a conversion your self (correctly) just visit here:

I have almost 900 pics of my conversion of an MCI 9 posted there from the drive home 3 years ago to just last week at a bus conversion rally In Arcadia Florida.

You can also get a lot of questions answered at a bus converters site at:

http://busconversions.com/newsboard/index.html

You have several hundred years of combined bus conversion experianced people that can answer about any question you'd ever want to know about converting a bus. Tell them I sent you. LOL
