We're putting our 1978 MC8 up for sale. It is ready to raise roof, or
add the interior. 8V-71 w/ 4 speed manual tranny, 140 gallon fuel tank. New battery, new brakes, new radius rod bushings,
and new steering box; this bus drives like a Cadillac. New fast idle and stop engine air cylinders and hoses. New tires on
tag (less than 8000 miles), 90% good on steer, driver tires at 25%. A/C converted to R134; works, but needs charge. Body
panels in good condition w/ minor road dings. Has minor air leaks. Air beam is strong.
There are 2 new Coleman rooftop A/C units installed. One has heat strip and has been used some, the other has uninstalled
heat strip and has never been connected. It has a Class III receiver hitch installed and new 12 volt towing light
converter.
Interior stripped to frame. Heating vents and fiberglass panels have been removed. Windows are removed and aluminum
skinned. Foam insulation sprayed in top half of walls, and ceiling. Bottom half of walls open. Minor rust damage in lower
wall tubes, which is common on MC8s. Easily repairable. I will be working on repairing that soon, or will reduce price by
$500 if buyer wants to do repairs himself.
This is a good solid bus and runs very well. We purchased it to convert, and were preparing to raise the roof. Then we
acquired a newer MC9 with a new rebuilt turbo engine and auto tranny. It will meet our family needs better, so we've
decided to let the MC8 go to a good home.
The hard work is done. It's ready to raise the roof, or install windows and add the interior. The bays are completely
empty still. We have only $19000 into it so that's the price. Far cheaper than seated coaches of this quality go for, and
the demolition is already done.
I'll be putting together a web page w/ pictures soon and will post it here when ready. The bus is located near
Minneapolis. Email if interested and I'll send pictures and contact information.

Craig,
My wife and I have reciently made the decision to go forward on our dreams of converting a bus.
I have narrowed my choices down to an MC-8, GMC 06 or GMC 4906.
I read your add and noticed you are in Minniapolis. I am in Somerset WI. I work in S. Paul. Is there any way my wife and I could come and see and discuss the bus?
