Have limited amount of new 8V71 and 8V92 rebuild kits. Each kit includes pistons, rings, rods,and sleeves. 8V71 kit $600.00, 8V92 kit $800.00 plus ship. Also have new 71' and 92" sleeves only (new) for $20.00 ea. either motor. New reman. injectors (brown tags 65's) $400.00 set of 8. Used injectors $10.00 ea. again plus ship. In frame overhaul kit cost for a 8v92t. also nees two heads replaced or repaired has 6 of 8 cylinders with cracked valve seats

What would cause the exhaust port fingers in the sleeves of an 8v71 to fracture? Rebuilt about 51,000 miles ago. This happened to most of the fingers on two sleeves and another sleeve had visible cracks on some fingers. Until this happened coach was running like a top but temp was higher than normal but not in danger zone. Would like to know possible causes as well as what other damage to look for. Also, due to percentage of sleeve failure I think sleeves in other cylinders should be suspect as well. Any experience with defective metal in sleeves?

I have a Bomag MPH 100 Reclaimer with a Detroit Diesel 8V71 engine in it. We are under the impression that the motor has a cracked head and we are definately getting collant contamination in our oil sample results. I was wondering if you may have a source of re-built motors I may be able to contact to purchase one from. Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon. Christopher A.
