I am converting a 1981 Eagle 10.
There are two metal tanks in the rear of the cargo bays. They are about 8" front ot back, 25" tall and 25" wide.
They have a 3/8" metal line that goes from the top of the tanks to the fuel filler compartments. They stop there with a threaded fitting that appears to be a one-way check valve.
I have not seen these tanks in other model 10 Eagles that I have seen.
Does anybody have any idea as to what these tanks are or what they do?
In addition, I need a right side windshield and a couple of dash switches (a dash wiring diagram would be nice also)
It's been about 20 years since working on Eagles, and I have a huge love/hate relationship with them. They should be extra fuel tanks, if I'm not mistaken. The two internal fuel tanks are above and between the bogie transaxle springs, and adjacent to the (on a regular coach) AC compartment...so, when the tank welds ruptured and leaked, and the tanks leaked, the diesel fumes got sucked up into the cabin (but that's another story).
The tanks you speak of were additional fuel storage, and the company I worked for had some 10's with them, some without. Boosted fuel capacity to 170 gals, if I remember right.
