Not hard to work on, had one for 10 years. Look out for rust, drum brakes aren't too effective, but some private people converted the fronts to discs a few years back. Get a book from the Cortez Owners Assoc. it lists all the parts and has comparable NAPA part numbers as well. Remember the rust will kill the thing, look out for it even out west
