Out fishing the other day and boat running a 6V53 gave a splutter then dropped in kts and revs we slowed to check things lifted the hatch all looked in order plenty of water etc. 45min later temp rose a little so we checked fluid levels to find the header tank empty we put what fresh we had in the motor and powered on slowly to where we were to dive but heated up quickly we pondered the idea of filling to the top with salt water knowing we would have to drain when we got home after finding that the water was coming out the 2 rear engine breathers half way down the enginr. and we clamped these off. when the engine was fill of salt the engine was to be started and it was locked solid with water we presume. With water cooled manifolds we pulled the tappet covers off then took the injectors out and wound the engine over to empty the cylinders of water the rear 4 cylinders had water so we think unlikely 2xcrackedheads,Question do you think the water has come from the manifolds some how through a blown engine seal can it get into 4x cylinders this way.
Cheers
