I have a 1960 Chevrolet Impala and the vin is missing on the door jam. Does anyone know the other location of a hidden vin on that car. Thank You if you can help me. Ed
It should be on the underside of the frame just behind where it curves upward toward the firewall, approximately under the drivers foot.
There is another one on the outside of the frame rail behind the drivers side rear wheel.
Finding these numbers can be difficult, especially the one under the drivers floor pan. If the car had suffered from hard driving it could be scraped beyond readability. They weren't always in the exact same spot for every car.
Rust can make them near impossible to read as well and you need to be careful removing the rust. I'd suggest a liquid rust remover rather than mechanical.
