Class A Fuel Problem Maria Elena Perez 3-9-08
We are on the road with a new to us Class A Hurricane by Four Winds. For some unknown reason we cannot fuel (gasoline) the unit in a normal manner. We put the pump in and it clicks off constantly. We were "dribbling" 75 gallons of fuel in.

Any help will be apprecaited.

Just read (on another website) about this exact problem. Check your filler tube and see if the rubber hose that connects the filler tube to the tank is twisted and/or collapsed? That was the source of the problem on the other website poster's Hurricane.

Hope this helps,
John Newman

I have to take back my post concerning the rubber hose on your Hurricane RV. I was confused with which motor home was being written about, It was not a Hurricane. However, if you will take a look at www.rvfactor.blogspot.com, there may be information that is of interest to you.

I previously owned a 1979 Pace Arrow on a Dodge chassis and both the main and aux tank were painfully slow to fill. I tried things like putting a piece of hose in the tank along with the filler nozzle to try and let it vent better...didn't help much. The filler pipe went into the tank midway up the side (not the top) and I personally think that was the problem.

Hope you find what is causing your problem.

I posted the original problem. My husband ended up getting under the coach. He found that the intake for the gas had a "loop". He used a plumbers plastic tie and secured it up to another part of the coach.
Problem solved.
