I have a 2000 diesel HR Endeavor. There is a small electric pump (assume vacuum) on the firewall that controls the heater controls. There is a small round plastic tank next to it with about a approx ¼ “ hose running from the pump and a small approx 1/8 “ hose running through the firewall from the tank. After starting the RV I noticed that the pump would not stop running. I disconnected the electrical wire and it stopped I drove it to a mechanic friend where he checked the pump and the air running from the pump to the tank was pushing, not pulling to create a vacuum. He crossed the wire and it still ran in the same direction. He felt the pump was bad. I replaced the pump with a similar ford pump and it would not stop running and was also pushing not pulling to create a vacuum. Am I wrong or could this be another bad pump. I’ve even closed off the output hose from the pump it will not shut off. There is a small hose outlet on the pump that is creating a vacuum and when closed off it does stop the pump. Nothing has been changed on either the old or new pump as far as the hode connections. I tried working the heater controls on the dask, but it is one one setting and will not change. This is strange but I‘ve got $150.00 into a new pump (that I can’t return) and feel this pump may also be bad. |
