Hydro Flame Model FA-7615 Problem Jim 2-17-08
I have a Hydro Flame furnace, model FA-7615 in a 1986 Chevy/Okanagan camper van. I bought this van six months ago from the original owner with 26,000 miles on it and it has had very little use. I follow the instructions for turning the furnace on (on the label on the furnace) and after about 30 seconds the blower goes on but there is no heat. I let it run for several minutes and still no heat comes out. I then turn it off and the fan continues to run for another 30 seconds before shutting itself off. I have propane and my propane stove lights up, so that’s not a problem. I’ve searched all over the Internet and cannot find a solution. While the furnace is in start up mode, there is no sound coming from it as if it’s trying to ignite. I have found what looks like a small black button on the front of the furnace with a “5” on the black cap. This button pushes in and a spring pushes it right back out. In nosing around I’m wondering if this is in fact a cover for a small fuse and wonder if the fuse is burned out. The entire furnace looks very clean so I doubt that there is dirt in there. Could this be a fuse cover? If so, how does one take it off to extract the fuse? If not, do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks

You could have any number of problems. The board could be bad, the voltage could be low, the propane line to the furnace could be pluged with oil. The sail switch could be faulty or the fan not moving enough air to close it. The high limit might cause these symptoms. Good Luck
