I have a 1984 pace arrow 33 foot motor home. on our last trip out we were plugged in and someone touched our motor home and got shocked. I had an electric fence tester with me and any part on our rv that was metal was hot. unplugged unit and started generator and it was not running good at all never had a problem with it in the past. then we lost all the power in our rv to the air and the outlets and anything ran from power but i have not tripped a breaker. any ideas. some one told me i probaly have a hot wire touching somewhere and said i should turn off all my circuits and run power to it and see if i can isolate or see see if it is before my box. what do you think. David
You have a ground fault of some kind. Comon failures that cause this are water tank elements and fridge elements. If it is not one of these then we go looking for other failures like bare hot lines contacting the ground. Try unpluging fridge and testing then unplug the hot water heater and test again. I am willing to bet if it is not these two appliances it is one of the appliances. The next step will be to turn off the 120 volt breakers untill the trouble goes away, then find if one of the appliances is the problem. By the way your trailer is not grounding to the cord and or outlet correctly. We have seen a rash of bad park 15/30 amp adaptors lately. Good Luck
