My Triple A membership comes due in June and I will be putting our older (1983) Toyota Motorhome on the road. Even though the home has 83 k on it, it is likely I may need tow service at some point.
How does Good Sam insurance compare to triple a? I understand that aaa will not pay for a tow of a motorhome but the prices are about the same? Has anyone had both? I asked good sam for a comparision and they say they are not familiar with aaa? I have the basic aaa. We get a 8 mile to on triple a for free then it is $1 per mile. I do not see where good sam specifies how many miles?
Help appreciated.
I sell insurance. The good sam policy at least here in california is far superior. the AAA plan can be endorsed to provide a tow up to 150 miles. The good sam has no limit, it states that it will tow you to the nearest qualified repair facility. if you have a unique type of breakdown and are in the middle of nevada it might be close to 300 miles to a rv repair center. also the AAA policy will not tow your rv until it is on pavement. We do a lot of Geocoaching in Nevada and Utah are sometimes 30 or more miles down dirt roads in our 30 ft 1977 Apollo.
We have Good Sam Emergency road side service. Last year we broke down in the middle of now where Texas( loss a injector pump in our dodge diesel) Good Sam was on point, they not only pulled my truck they pulled my 36ft fifth wheel. over 60 miles set us up in a good camp ground and came back the next day to take the truck to the shop. They called us a number of times to make sure we were okay. Not once were we asked for money and everyone was very pleasent. best 79.00 I've ever spent. I now wouldn't leave home without it.
