I would think that if it was the isolator or solinoids they would be HOT to the touch in a short time. Mine is a 1988 Chinock on a Ford frame. With the ignition off, the truck battery is isolated from the house batteries. With ignition on, all four batteries come on line. Is there some way that your house batteries are not conected in parallel with the truck battery with ignition on? The isolator is most likely connected to a 20 amp fuze. High resistance may not blow the fuze while a dead short will blow it right away. I would make sure all my negitve batery posts are in line. If so, maybe the new altinator is the suspect. |
