We have a suburan furnace and so far have had the ignitor replaced,the thermistat and a second thermistat, delay relay and some other things and a new battery for the 12v replaced just last week we had the service guy come out again because we were still having problems, he tested it at our RV and said it was the valve, but when he got it to the shop and was testing it, everything thing was fine so he brought it back and reinstalled it and it was ok for a day, now it keeps clicking and goes on and off every couple of minutes.
Can you tell me what is wrong with the furnace just from what I have told you. We are at a loss.
Hi Sylvia. What model? NT, SF? How old? Clicking as in the ignitor sparking? On and off as in the burner or the whole unit (fan and burner)shuts on and off. Has the tech tested the PC board with a tester? If not have it tested first before replacing parts to try to fix it.
The model is a NT, the RV is a 1995 so I believe it is the original furnace. The Clicking is ignitor, the on and off is shutting off completely and turning back on and starting again. The tech did test the PC board with a tester and he said everything was good. He said he tested everything and bench tested it long cycle and short cycle and it worked fine at the shop. A day after it was replaced in our RV it started up again so we are back to square one. The tech said it might be the RV converter or some type of electrical problem.

Hi Sylvia, It's hard to troubleshoot something over the internet... I'd take a look at the ignitor/flame sensor and see if there's carbon build up on it or deteriorated. It may be the flame sensor is not telling the PC board there is a flame, hense it shuts down. The sensor could also be bad. Make sure you have a good blue flame to allow the sensor to do it's job. I'd also try just putting in a new board for troubleshooting to see if it fixes it. If it doesn't, put the old one back in. Good luck to you. These things can be pretty frustrating.
