I have a Mor-Flo electric dual element 45 gallon water heater, model #EFU90-50DL, product number 0223262. It is still heating but may have enough of very little hot water available. I've been told that it could be the thermostat or the heating elements. What model thermostat and heating elements would be needed to replace what I have and can these parts be replaced in an 18 year old unit without the unit failing or leaking?
Just to give you alittle backround before my ask my question. I lost power and when it was restored I had no hot water. My questions are could I just need to reset it and if so where is the reset button, I have looked everywhere I can think of and can not find it or could one of the elements blown either with the turn off or turn on and can I check it myself or do I need to call someone to do it for me? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hello Stone
probably the lower element has burned out--or covered with lime buildup
Most house water heaters have a red reset button on thermostat.elements can be had Home depot-,ace hardware,True Value, either it's has 4 bolts hoding it in or itself it threaded onto the heater.TURN OFF power
use garden hose drain off water---and change the element.

I have a Mor-Flo but it's in a closet. It's leaking and water is going everywhere. It's pretty old. At least 25+ years. I can not do much to it because my father is not in the country and will be coming back on the 23rd. I don't want to hire a plumber to come in and take a look because I'm afraid of being ripped off. I don't mind showering in cold water. How do I turn it off? This is really important. Thank you.
I just wanted to know if you have a diagram on how to change the heating element in a Mor-Flo water heating unit serial # 9736104792 Model # E5250R045DV
My Mor- flo water heater says on it. "heat pump" No one I've called has any idea what this water heater iis about. There does not seem to be any relation to IT & my heating- cooling system. Anyone familiar with this item. Approx 25 years old & leaking now.
Gary,
On my Mor Flo unit, the serial number has a label above it indicating the first 2 digits are year of manufacture and the second pair indicate the week of manufacture. In your case it would appear the unit was manufactured the 48th week of 1990 (SN 9048.....).
