Hey, have common problems with mid to late ninety's with no heat. To tell if the actuator is working, just put your blower on high and turn to vents. You should hear a more muffled sound (wind noise from blower motor) with the heat on, and hear it get slightly louder with it turned to cold. This is because the air has to blow through your AC evaporator and your heater core when the heat is on, and with heat off it only goes through the AC evaporator. Also feel you heater core inlet lines. The lower hose should be hot (inlet) and the upper one warm/hot (outlet). If you flush the core, flush from the top hose to the bottom. This is the opposite way coolant flows. The tell tale sign of thermostat problems is only if the temperature gauge never rises, or only rises slightly. Hope this helps. |
