I was changing the cigarette lighter and the radio quit, i checked the fuse and changed it, now the radio or the lighter still dont work and it wont go into gear, it seems stuck on park. i checked all the fuses they are o.k. any ideas?
The accessory fuse is either blown or not receiving power; the fuse runs the park interlock and that's the little solinoid that lets you shift out of park when your foot is on the brake.
Check your owner's manual; You'll find which fuse is the accessory fuse and what fuses are related. the best way to check a fuse is with a test light. The light should go on when you touch each side of the fuse; If it only lights on one side, that's a blown fuse. The fuse you need should have power when the key is in "Run" or "Acc". If you find you don't have power on both sides of the fuse, that's a wiring issue (keep in mind that there are several fuses that aren't powered when the key is in run, i.e. the fuses for the headlights)
