Could anyone give me info on how difficult the replacement is on my roof mounted coleman 13,500 ducted A/C. The unit appears to have a shorted compressor, it completely bogs down my generator( adequate size) and then trips 30 amp breaker. the unit is on my 94 Gulfstream, so the A/C is probably due. any help would be appreciated. Thanks Matt
Hello Matt;
sorry on the loss of AC unit-
first off--turn power off-
remove interior wireing---mark every wire--so you know what they do- there are bolts/nuts that hold it down=
on the roof--"my opinion" I would put blanket and some thin plywood on top of it---to NOT scratch the roof-and so when you do lift the AC off it's base you wont hurt the roof too.if you have access to a tractor with a bucket on it---they should reach just right---that's what i did.
be sure wireing is the same on new unit before you get it on the roof.
Buy new seal too-20--30 $$$ depending on where you buy it-
test ac on the ground before getting it on the roof too.
good luck---rich in Va.
PS im gone for the weekend--in the morning.
