My escort has power loss when starting out from a stop it picks and takes off about 2500 rpm but from 800 to 2500 it takes for ever if it dont stall what can i do

When was your last tune up? This vehicle is 7 years old, so your most recent tune up should include plugs, wires, air filter and fuel filter.

Since this is happeing under load, this is also potentially a vacuum problem or a fuel supply problem (bad pump or fuel pressure regulator).
