I have an Onan Genset 6500 generator in a Damon class A motorhome. The starter drive must be replaced. How are most installations of these units done, and how do I remove the unit? Does it drop down or slide out? I cannot see the starter at all, so I must remove the whole unit to get to it. THANKS.

Did you ever get an answer to your question? I have a 94 Allegro Bay with a Onan Genset and the starter just went out in it. I am trying to figure out what is going to be the best way to change it. If you can be of any assistance, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
